Maddox Chivan Jolie-Pitt

Back in March 2002, Angelina Jolie took one of the most important decisions of her life. No, she wasn’t just doing new movie projects around that time. That was when Angelina adopted a seven-month-old little boy born in Cambodia. The world today knows him as Maddox Jolie-Pitt. Madox was born as Rath Vibol on August 5, 2001.

Angelina met Maddox as an orphanage located in Battambang. At that moment, the actress was married to actor Billy Bob Thornton and had already decided to adopt a child. In this process, she met with different children but didn’t feel a connection with any of them. But, then out of nowhere, she saw Maddox and the rest is all history. When she was in the process of adopting Maddox, the Cambodian adoptions were temporarily halted due to child trafficking concerns.

Luckily, Angelina and her then-husband Billy Bob won the legal procedures and Maddox was legally Angelina’s first child. As Angelina began dating Brad after her failed relationship with Billy, Brad legally adopted Maddox in 2006. That’s when his name got changed to Maddox Chivan Jolie Pitt. Like his big brother Maddox, he has also maintained a distance from his dad Brad following parents’ divorce battle.
